When Learning Gives You Goosebumps

For years, my professional life has revolved around systems, processes, complianWhere learning meets purpose-management, CSR, and balance coming alive.ce, and responsibility—working closely with healthcare, technology, and highly regulated environments. It has been a journey rooted in precision, accountability, and impact. Parallel to this professional path, my heart has always leaned toward giving back to society-through volunteering, CSR initiatives, and grassroots community engagement. That social commitment was never a checkbox for me; it has always been a part of who I am.

When I decided to pursue an MBA, I wasn’t looking for just another qualification to add to my résumé. I was searching for meaning. I wanted a program that would respect my real-world experience, challenge my thinking, and align with my deeper values and long-term purpose. I wanted learning that feels alive, relevant, and transformative. That search ultimately led me to the Full-Time (Hybrid) MBA at IIT Patna.

What I’ve experienced in just the initial days has been exceptional-truly ultimate.

The way IIT Patna structures learning doesn’t treat professional life and personal growth as separate journeys. Instead, it beautifully connects them. Subjects like Management Practices immediately made me realize that management isn’t something abstract—it’s something we live every day. Decision-making, collaboration, ownership, leadership under pressure, ethical responsibility-these are not just textbook concepts; they are lived experiences. The early classes pushed me to reflect deeply on my own journey, helping me see my past work with renewed clarity and purpose. I’m genuinely excited to learn these concepts in depth and implement them in real time, both professionally and personally, under the guidance of such thoughtful, supportive, and passionate professors.

But the moment that truly gave me goosebumps was Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Before this, CSR felt familiar- almost instinctive. I had practiced it through volunteering and social initiatives, but I had never fully unpacked its deeper meaning, structure, and long-term impact. Prof. Ritika Mahajan’s classes changed that perception entirely. The way she explained CSR-its foundations, intent, and transformative potential-was inspiring, powerful, and deeply moving. It wasn’t just a lecture; it was a perspective shift.

Suddenly, everything I had been doing for society over the years found a clear framework, direction, and language. I could see how intention meets strategy, how compassion meets execution, and how impact becomes sustainable when guided by strong management thinking.

For the first time, I could clearly visualize how my professional expertise, management education, data-driven thinking, and social responsibility can come together to shape my future career--and my long-term goal of contributing meaningfully to society. Not just emotionally, but strategically, responsibly, and at scale.

These early days at IIT Patna have reassured me that I made the right choice. This journey is not just about career acceleration or academic excellence. It’s about becoming a more conscious professional, a more grounded leader, and a more responsible human being.

Grateful for this beginning. Energized by the learning.

And deeply thankful to IIT Patna and its faculty for shaping not just skilled professionals-but purpose-driven individuals who are ready to create real-world impact.
